About Benchmark Sportfishing
Join us in New Jersey or the Florida Keys for a memorable sportfishing adventure with the Benchmark team. Whether you are an experienced angler or a beginner the Benchmark Captains and crew are dedicated to making sure your trip is safe, enjoyable and productive.
We offer both a 44’ Henriques Sportfisher and a 32’ Regulator center console for fishing charters out of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, and Islamorada, Florida Keys. Our vessels and tackle are meticulously maintained and ready for action!
Our Boats
44’ Henriques Sportfish
Henriques yachts are renowned for being purpose-built fishing vessels for the serious fisherman. They are rugged boats that are built to endure the rigors of fishing the often turbulent waters of the Northeastern United States. The fishing first design of the Benchmark provides an enormous cockpit area for fishing. The Benchmark also offers a well-appointed air-conditioned salon area with plenty of seating and a full galley. The vessel is outfitted with state-of-the-art fish finding and navigational equipment to help us get you on the fish.
32’ Regulator Center Console
Regulator boats are seriously tough center console sportfishers known for their exceptional fit & finish, as well as a dry, soft, and comfortable ride. Powered by new twin 300HP Yamaha motors the Benchmark Regulator will get you out to the fishing grounds fast! Just like the original Benchmark, our 32’ Regulator is outfitted with top-notch equipment to get us out to the fishing grounds and on the fish.

Since the age of 3 Captain Nick has had a passion for all things related to fishing, endless summer days were spent catching every fish out of the pond on the family farm. Once he got a taste for fishing the ocean after just one trip aboard one of New Jersey’s popular party boats the stage was set. After a few years through college working the decks of a couple of party boats and a well-known local charter boat Capt. Nick received his 100 ton Masters license from the USCG. At age 22 Benchmark Sportfishing Charters was started with a 33′ Bertram, 2 years later we moved up to the 44′ Henriques that has been seen fishing the waters of Raritan Bay to the Florida Keys for the last 16 years.
Capt. Kevin Pento

Captain Kevin started working as a mate on a six pack charter boat out of Point Pleasant N.J. at the age of 13. Since that time he has been pursuing his passion for sportfishing as an angler, mate and captain. Captain Kevin brings on board over 40 years of sportfishing experience, with over 15 years of major east coast tournament experience, including winning the prestigious award for 3rd place top angler in the 2017 White Marlin Open. With his positive attitude and old school work ethic Captain Kevin is dedicated to putting you on the fish and giving your charter a safe and memorable day on the water.
